Tyre companies listed in India: who they are and what they make
The tyre companies in India whose shares trade on the NSE or BSE: what each one makes, where it is based, and how the tyre industry is put together.
Eight companies whose main business is making tyres have shares listed on Indian stock exchanges: MRF, Apollo Tyres, CEAT, JK Tyre & Industries, Balkrishna Industries (BKT), TVS Srichakra, Goodyear India and Tolins Tyres. Seven of them trade on both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE; Goodyear India's shares are listed on BSE. Between them they make tyres for nearly everything with wheels, from scooters and hatchbacks to trucks, tractors and mining machines.
Some of the best-known tyre brands sold in India are not on the list, because their Indian businesses are private companies owned by foreign groups. Bridgestone India Private Limited and Michelin India Private Limited are two examples. Their tyres are covered in our brand guides, but their shares cannot be bought on an Indian exchange.
This page describes the businesses. It does not cover share prices or offer any view on investing; for that, read the companies' own filings on the exchanges.
How the tyre industry in India is structured
The industry is large and concentrated. The Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA), whose members are the large makers, estimates annual turnover at about ₹1 lakh crore. Crisil Ratings puts the sector's revenue in 2025-26 at ₹1.36 lakh crore, with six leading companies accounting for about 85% of it.
Tyre makers divide their business by the vehicles they serve:
- Passenger cars and SUVs, the market most car owners buy in.
- Two- and three-wheelers: motorcycles, scooters and three-wheelers.
- Trucks and buses, in both radial and bias-ply construction.
- Off-highway: farm tractors and implements, construction, mining and industrial machines.
And by who buys them. Replacement sales, to owners like you, make up about half of annual sales, according to Crisil. The rest goes to vehicle makers as original equipment, and abroad. Exports reached a record ₹27,312 crore in 2025-26, and ATMA says they account for more than a quarter of the industry's revenue; farm and off-the-road tyres made up nearly 60% of export value in 2024-25. Natural rubber is the key raw material: Crisil puts it at nearly half of the industry's raw material costs, and ATMA says tyre makers use about 70% of the natural rubber consumed in India.
