MRF began in 1946 as a toy balloon unit in Chennai, moved into tread rubber in 1952 and released its first tyre in 1961; it describes itself as India's largest tyre maker. Its car line-up runs from 12-inch ZVTV and ZLX tyres for entry hatchbacks to Perfinza and Markus for premium cars and the Wanderer family for SUVs. The company is listed on the NSE and BSE and sells through a large network of its own and multi-brand dealers.

Warranty

MRF lists passenger car radial tyres at "6 years from the month of Manufacturing on the tyre", settled "Pro-rata" up to "85 % of Tread depth", and says its products "are warranted against failure on account of any manufacturing defects".

Keep the invoice and the warranty card, and read the terms printed on the card itself: they are what a claim is judged against.
